My responsibility as a librarian is to make sure that people have access to factual information and provide them a way to enhance their lives with our materials.

• When was the first time you participated in the A.R.T. Library Program? Do you participate yearly?

The first time I participated in the A.R.T. Library Program was a few years before. Since then, I have been participating yearly.

• What do art books provide that other books might not? Why is it important for your library to make art books available?

Art books (like art) can make people open their minds to new ways of thinking. Not everyone will see the same thing as the next person. It’s important for Haynes Branch Library to make art books freely available to our community because art books tend to be expensive and we are located in the low-income part of the county.
